Liposomal Encapsulation is the Solution

The standard orally administrated NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine) supplement is partially destroyed by the acids and enzymes of the digestive system, before it can reach the small intestine, where most nutrient absorption takes place. 

Once in the small intestine, food in your stomach can affect how you absorb NAC, the standard oral NAC is slowly absorbed, potentially taking many hours to reach the bloodstream.

For some health issues, for example poisoning, it can be crucial to receive the full dosage of NAC rapidly, so it can get to work, minimizing toxic damage to your liver and kidneys. This is why in a hospital setting, typically NAC is given intravenously, via IV infusion.

Liposomal Encapsulation Technology solves the above oral administration (PO) issues, as it utilizes “liposomes” for transportation, which are nano-sized bubbles, made from a phospholipid, which is the same material our cell membranes are made of.

When a substance, for example a vitamin or drug, in this case NAC, is encapsulated within these nano-sized bubbles, this substance is better protected from the digestive system's destructive acids and enzymes. 

Because the NAC is now encapsulated within these nano-sized, fat soluble Liposomes, once in the small intestine, it can now be very efficiently transported into the bloodstream, and finally delivered, with high cellular uptake. It can maintain the high cellular uptake because the NAC is hidden within the Liposomes, and continues to be accepted into the cells.

Tips:

Beware of other brands claiming "Liposomal"

This can be misleading, as they could be only “liposomal”, and not actually "encapsulated", which means they are a “fat-soluble” form of the supplement. Although fat-soluble forms are usually much better absorbed (than standard supplements), they do not utilize nano “lipids” for transportation.
